Prior to forming Amadeus Wealth Alternatives, Ed ran the investment division of a New Jersey regional accounting firm as well as the New York office of a Boston based advisory firm as Managing Director. Ed has lectured for the New York State CPA Society at the Exempt Organization Conference on Fiduciary Investing for Endowments and Foundations as well as the New Jersey State CPA Society, Essex Chapter. His publications include “Developing an Investment Process for the Foundation and Endowment,” co-authored with Donald Trone (Journal of Practical Estate Planning), “Institutional Investing for Individual Investors,” (Physician’s Money Digest), "Current Trends in Hedge Funds" (The CPA Journal) and "Investing in Rare Violins and Cellos" (WealthManagement.com).
He received his B.A. from Wesleyan University and M.B.A. from New York University. Mr. Papier is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly IMCA), the Society of Estate Planning Practitioners (STEP), the National Association of Certified Financial Fiduciaries (NACFF) and the Estate Planning Council of Northern New Jersey. He has completed the Consultant’s Certification Course sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Fiduciary Studies and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association’s (CAIA) Fundamentals of Alternative Investments Certificate Program. He holds a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor designation (CM&AA), awarded by the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA), evidencing expertise in middle market investment banking and mergers and acquisitions.
